Your Heroes are the whole shebang when it comes to whether you sink or swim in West Game II. A posse of these characters is worth its weight in gold, helping you with everything from building up your City to takin’ down those pesky Wandering Beasts and other varmints. Here's a basic primer to show you how to wrangle and level up your Heroes, and why they're such a good hand to have.

Recruiting Heroes

The Tavern is where you recruit your Heroes. Tap 'Heroes' on the bottom of the main interface to eyeball all your recruited Heroes, their tricks, and what upgrades they've got. You can also see how close you are to unlockin' more Heroes, and Level Up the ones you already got under your belt.

You can also find Hero management right quick by hittin' the Hero button on the action bar.

To rope in new Heroes, you gotta use either the Advanced or Honor Recruit Scotches at the Tavern. You can earn these as rewards in various activities, or buy 'em at the Shop.

Recruitin' Heroes is a shot in the dark—meaning you can't choose which specific Hero to Recruit when the chips are down. The chance of recruitin' a certain Hero depends on how rare they are.

Attributes and Skills

There’s some symbols and numbers on each Hero’s Page that’ll tell you a lot about what they can do for you. Let's break 'em up into two categories: Attributes and Skills.

Attributes

  • There’s three Rarity Levels of Hero: Rare, Super Rare, and Super Super Rare. The rarer the hero is, the harder it’ll be to bring them into the fold.
  • At the top of each Hero’s Attributes page you’ll find their name and their Troop Type (which kinda Troops they’re best at helping out):

Brawler

Ranger

Shooter

All Troop

  • The Hero’s Force is the number just below their portrait. This is a measure of how powerful that Hero is, taking into account their Level, Skills, Star Tiers, and Equipment Boosts. The higher the Force number is, the stronger that Hero’s gonna be.
  • Star Tiers are another way to increase the power of your Heroes. Every time you increase a Hero’s Star Tier, their attributes will improve, and they will gain access to additional Skills. Each of the five Star Levels contain six Tier Levels

Skills

There are two types of Skills that every Hero can utilize: Expedition Skills and On-Map Battle Skills. These skills are unique to each Hero, and provide different boosts in varying situations.

  • Expedition Skills refer to the real-time combat skills and abilities that are used in Expedition Battles and any fights you may pick in the Arena.
  • On-Map Battle Skills refer to a Hero’s March & Passive Bonuses.
    • Passive Skills are applied to your City, like speedin’ up your Wheat Gathering.
    • March Skills are applied to the Marching Troops that are accompanied by the selected Hero.

Leveling Up Your Heroes

Your Heroes can hit a max Level of 80, that’s the whole hog. To get 'em from Level 1 to their best, you'll be needin' a few fixin's:

HERO EXP ICON
  • Hero Exp is what raises a Hero’s Level, and you can round 'em up through all sorts of doings, or buy 'em for Gold at the Shop.
HERO PIECE ICON
  • Hero Pieces are the ticket to recruitin' Heroes and boostin' their Star Tier.
SKILL BOOK ICON
  • Skill Books are used to raise the level of a Hero’s Skill. The highest Skill Level is Level 5.

Well, there you have it, partner—a good lay of the land on your Heroes. Get 'em recruited, leveled up, and geared up, 'cause they're the only trail to making your City a real powerhouse in this here West!
